WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control
On 24 May 1999, the 191-member World Health Assembly (WHA), the governing body of the World Health Organization, unanimously backed a resolution calling for work to begin on a new legal instrument that could address issues as diverse as tobacco advertising and promotion, agricultural diversification, smuggling, taxes and subsidies. Includes documentation of the Working Group Available in the official languages of WHO (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish).
